ACT AGAINST CHILD ABUSE BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!

12 NOVEMBER 2020 ISTANBUL SCHOOL PRINCIPALS MEETING

On November 12, 2020, we held a School Principals Strategy Meeting with the participation of Mr. Serkan Gür, Deputy Director of Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, and 160 school principals from 6 districts within the scope of the Before It’s Too Late program, which was carried out in partnership with the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education and our Association.
During the meeting, we discussed the Positive Youth Development education program for over 10,000 administrators and teachers from 160 schools in the elementary, middle, and high school levels during the week of November 16-20.

27 AUGUST 2019 ISTANBUL SCHOOL PRINCIPALS MEETING

On August 27, 2019, we met with the school principals of the schools in the districts of Kagıthane, Gaziosmanpasa, Beyoglu, Fatih, Zeytinburnu, and Gungoren, where Positive Youth Development training will take place within the scope of the Before It’s Too Late Istanbul! project for 5th-12th grade school administrators and teachers, and representatives of the District Directorate of National Education.
During the meeting, which provided information about Positive Youth Development education, existing practices in Adolescent Abuse, Peer Bullying, and Dating Violence cases were discussed in schools.
In addition, the monitoring and evaluation results of Positive Youth Development training held in 2018-2019 were shared. As a result of the preliminary test application to measure the awareness of 1600 teachers and school administrators who participated in Positive Youth Development training during the 2018-2019 academic year on the subjects of abuse, peer bullying, and dating violence, the level of knowledge and awareness was determined as 6%. In the last test application carried out at the end of the training, it was determined that the awareness surface increased by 90 points to 96%.

As the Nirengi Association, we held the Before It’s Too Late Istanbul! Stakeholder Meeting in Istanbul on November 14, 2018, with the support of the Sabanci Foundation.

30 OCTOBER 2018 ISTANBUL SCHOOL PRINCIPALS MEETING

On November 30, 2018, 6 districts in Istanbul where Positive Youth Development training will be held within the scope of the Before It’s Too Late Istanbul! project, supported by Sabanci Foundation; We met with the school principals of the schools in Bayrampasa, Gaziosmanpasa, Esenler, Eyup Sultan, Zeytinburnu and Fatih districts.
During the meeting, which provided information about Positive Youth Development education, existing practices in Adolescent Abuse, Peer Bullying, and Dating Violence cases were discussed in schools.

10 MARCH 2018 ISTANBUL WORKSHOP

As the Nirengi Association, we held the Act Against Child Abuse Before It’s Too Late Istanbul! Workshop on March 10, 2018, in Istanbul with the support of the Civil Think EU Program.
In this workshop, we discussed the issue of child abuse in-depth with the representatives of relevant public institutions and NGOs, as well as university and private sector participants, with an inter-institutional and interdisciplinary approach.
